How do I build a good credit score? 

Our other page briefly went over some ways, we will go over them again in depth, while including other options 

Being put in as an authorized user under your parents credit card

ONLY do this method if you parents already have a good credit score/good credit history 

• PROS: Many credit card companies allow parents to put there kids under there credit card as authorized users, which allows kids to use credit cards under there parents supervision, which will allow them to build a credit score early. 

• CONS: This should not be done if your parents have a bad history with credit, as it will reflect on the authorized user, as creidt reports include both the authroized users histroy, along with the parents and both are factored in when determining credit score, so if there credit history is bad it ends up having more cons than pros 

Maintaining good credit history 

• Paying your bills on time -> this will prove that you are low risk, and are capable of paying what you borrowed on time increasing your credit score

• Not maxing out credit cards -> a good rule is to only spend 30% of your credit limit as spending more can be 

• Maintaining good financial habits -> not spending more than you make, as spending more than what you make usually means using credit cards and can cause irresponsible credit card usage which is bad for your credit score
